Jason Misner, Biomedical Engineer, Aramark, named as the August 2010 Award of Excellence winnerUNION, SC – The Award of Excellence recipient for August 2010 is Jason Misner, Director of Biomedical Engineering for Aramark at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Jason’s nominator stated: “Jason is a very knowledgeable and capable Biomedical employee who is dedicated to patient safety. Jason very effectively communicates with all levels of staff and physicians and uses his Biomedical expertise to efficiently solve all equipment problems. Because of his tireless efforts, our equipment remains perfect for use. Jason is very loyal and dedicated to the Hospital District.” Jason joined the Wallace Thomson Hospital Biomedical Engineering department as it’s director in October 2008. He comes to Union from Georgetown Healthcare System where he was Director of Biomedical Engineering for two hospitals in the System and supervised multiple technicians. At Wallace Thomson Hospital, Jason actively participates on the Safety Committee where he reports on the high standard of safety for the patient care equipment he is responsible for and maintains it’s safety and functionality.
The Award of Excellence is given to one employee each month who exemplifies excellence and goes above and beyond to deliver stellar customer service. Employees of the Union Hospital District as well as patients and visitors are allowed to vote on this month. The nomination forms can be found in the main lobby or obtain through a staff member. Martha Gregory, named as the August 2010 Nurse of the Month winner
UNION, SC – The Nurse of the Month recipient for August 2010 is Martha Gregory, RN. Martha’s nominator stated: “Martha has a caring and wonderful attitude towards her patients. She is a wonderful preceptor for new employees – as she was mine (nominator’s) when I first came, so I know how good she is. She is a very dedicated hospital employee and has been at Wallace Thomson Hospital for many years.” “Martha Gregory has many qualities that make her an ideal candidate for nurse of the month. She is caring and competent. She handles critical situations with ease and her sense of humor helps to lighten stressful times for her patients and her co-workers. Martha’s expertise is trusted by the physicians and the ICU staff. She has performed optimally in the roles of charge nurse and as a preceptor for newer staff members. Martha has shown commitment to her continuing education in critical care nursing and voluntarily maintains her CCRN certification which is a nationally recognized credential that symbolizes excellence in critical care nursing. Martha Gregory is an asset to the Intensive Care Unit as well as Wallace Thomson Hospital.”
